Ascendo coffee is a coffee shop based in San Luis Obispo. We began with the idea of making the world a better place through our business. This idea is still the heart of our vision. We are truly humbled by all the beautiful relationships we have formed in our community.
We fell in love with roasting coffee in 2014, and haven’t looked back. It has become the foundation of our passion for coffee. We have spent many hours testing roast profiles and rebuilding and modifying our roasters. We have become very confident in our ability to roast specialty coffee consistently well.
In 2015, we moved from our tiny hole in the wall to a 2800 sq ft building two doors down from our original shop. We did all the construction ourselves with the help of friends and family. It was an incredible and humble experience to build something from scratch with the help of the community that we helped create.
In 2017, we changed our name to Ascendo Coffee. Ascendo Coffee! Same people, same values, same coffee! Ascendo means “I rise” in latin. The whole of our journey can be described by rising from the very little we had at the beginning. And we certainly couldn’t rise every morning without our coffee!
